Walking the Rhoddopes

Walking the Rhoddopes

The region around smolyan, in southern bulgaria is a great place for those who enjoy the outdoor life.

Numerous official walking trails cris cross the landscape, and range in difficulty and duration.

The advantage for the retired walker, and those retiring there, is that the rhoddopes are generally less arduous to climb than the Rila or pirin Mountains of Bulgaria.

While in Smolyan (Smolian), the administrative centre of the central rhoddopes, I was able to obtain a local map detailing the numerous walks and attractions of the region.

Please contact me, and i will be glad to provide more information.
