Village of Stoikite

The Village of Stoikite is scattered among five different hamlets. It is mentioned for the first time in historical sources in a document from 1706 by the French traveller Pall Lukas. It was populated in the 17 century during one of the waves of forced muslimization in the Rhodopes. For a long time this was also the dwelling place of the shepherds from Shiroka Luka.
