The Church of the Forty Martyrs (Tsarkva na chetirideset machenitsi) is located near the bridge in Veliko Tarnovo.
The church was founded by Tsar Ivan Asen II as a commemoration of his victory on Forty Martyrs day in 1230 against the Byzantine rulers of Epirus at Klokotnitsa.
