The Asenova quarter, Veliko Tarnovo
The Asenova quarter is located in Veliko Tarnovo is located to the west of the Tsarvets fortress on both sides of the Yantra river.
Historically the Asenova quarter was populated by Artisans from the middle ages until an earthquake in 1913. The earthquake destroyed most of the medieval buildings which stood there, and badly damaged churches in the vicinity.
